The gods appear to have abandoned the Prime but there are signs of a 'higher power' directing and controlling the enemy. We know that Brightbane is the 'essence of divinity' and, for example, is what feeds Ygdrassil, the world tree. It was not recorded on the Prime before Ragnarok but is now being actively mined in Yarlug and maybe elsewhere. It is possible that 'unmodified' gnomes, and presumably other mortal races, can't safely work with Brightbane. The creation of a race of half-folk 'gnomes', like Dunsi, may be so as to address this weakness and allow them to work with Brightbane. It is possible that control of Brightbane may lead to the creation or empowering of 'new' gods. New Gods Like contenders for new gods, include: Yeenoghu Bathomet
