== Some Analysis ==

Seven ships arrive from the home plane of the Elves; there were an unknown number of Elven Lords but we know that they brought 4 gems with them; this suggests that there were 4 major Lords.

The elves from the 7 ships split into 3 major types: try and go straight home; settle by the sea (Celin); head inland.  Those that head inland split into 2 sub-groups, Oldheart and Vikrain.

The Drow are described as ‘Dark Sea Elves’; they are also frequently linked with water and possess a fleet.

Are the Drow the descendants of those who originally choose not to settle and attempted to return home, finding themselves on a negative plane from whence their downfall began.

That gives us:

Oldheart

Vikrain

Sea Elves – Celin; Malen; Celinas

Drow

?Sylvan?


From the original 7 ships.

Noting that there were 4 gems and so 4 lords by the time of Lastar; if one had already left to go on and become the Drow, this suggests at least 5 original Elven Lords.

The Sylvan Elves appear to be apart from this original grouping and may be a separate race of Elves.  However, they could also represent the family of one of the 7 who had gone much further inland than Milai’s history records.
