The peace that Lastar made by bringing light

Was shattered by Demogorgan’s powerful blight.

The challenge came at Minas Aarda

Where the sons of Hamar fought with great valour.

On Amras Aarda many men lay

And with them many Vikriain’s stay.


To Bolgar the great ones came and brought calm

But after them charged the evil hordes bent on harm.

As each Lord left Frastor held on for many years

And as the house of Findor fell so did his silver tears.

His uncle Bofur was the first Lord to die

And in that haul his sons Anduin and Kalafar lie.


Long did Minas Bolgar shine in that frightened land

Then came the evil’s greatest triumph at Demogorgan’s hand.

Lastar’s final act broke the evil’s grasp of Minas Bolgar

Though Banchur’s children Doran, Helan, Kasherian and Boldur

Died to free their father’s dwarven halls

No man or elf answered their many calls.
