1st Age[edit]

Minas Tiris built. (1st Age History) Probably to defend against the race of Man, newly arrived from over the sea to the West. (Dafydd)

Dwarves, Elves and Men defend Minas Tiris from Dispater’s sea-borne assault. Gundleus discovers the Plane of Fire and becomes Lord of Minas Tiris. Lastar creates the Pentogram Gates each leading to a Minas or to his tower at Sutur. (1st Age History)

Lastar creates the Palantirs so that his armies would not be surprised again. As Lastar retakes the land, they are placed as follows: Minas Tiris, Minas Morgul, Minas Maedus, Minas Emras, Minas Aarda, Minas Olga and Sutur. (1st Age History)


2nd Age[edit]

Rantor attacks Minas Tiris via the gate to the Plane of Fire; he discovers a Palantir and Gundleus’ 6th part of the Crown. Gondoloin, Gundleus’ son, retreats to Ashore. (2nd Age History)
