A terrible scream rings out, high pitched above the clash of metal and the incessant discordant chanting. Morwath falls…The blackness only broken by flashes of fire and lightening which capture the horrific scene. The dead lie all around, like a pile of chump steak - some burning - blood pooling on the stone floor. A blur of movement and a flash of lightening illuminates a huge dark beast whose thin flesh is drawn tightly over an enormous, skeletal frame. Held upright by two thick legs, resembling those of an enormous goat, its human torso supports two massive arms, each wrapped in thick gold bands. Another blood-curdling scream. The giant hands that until now had been twisting and turning, wielding a polearm of evil design, are still. The thin membrane of the beast’s wings is drawn taught as they are stretched out, not to provide lift but in celebration of its victims final death throws. The oversized head of a fly tops off the monstrosity; its multifaceted eyes glimmering in the darkness. A thud as the body of a dwarf comes down next to Morwath, its face a death mask of shock and disbelief. Morwath is left with a vision of the rune Ҝ, burning.
