Lastar to Yagrik
My Dear Yagrik,
I thank you for all your help with this difficult task and I am truly impressed with what you have achieved in such a short time. I realise that I may have put you in an awkward position at last year’s meeting in Sutur, but it is important that our agreements remain confidential – not all agree with my approach or share our interest in the work of the Ancient Ones. Please accept the gift of this orb and what it offers as some small measure of recompense.
I am particularly grateful for your recent news but must confess to being confused as to why the Ancients have failed to reveal their intent before now. I hope it is merely because I have paid too much attention to Everinstar to notice what might exist in other parts of the Prime – especially, in lonely mountain ranges deep within Amarsland.
You say that there appears to be a great crack in a mountain to the north of Amarsland that the locals know as Mount Akhet. This fissure they call ‘Mordrass’ or ‘the way of the dead’, in a tongue which mirrors that of the Ancients quite closely. You also say that it is partially hidden by two huge tapering monoliths, which appear natural (although I would not be surprised if a more otherworldly hand was involved) and three obelisks that seem to ‘hold up the sky’. How perfect! Clearly, I am intrigued.
I would be very grateful if you would investigate Akhet further, to decide whether it could be made into a Pylon, resembling that reserved for Osiris himself, and whether you and your folk would wish to take up residence there. I can think of no better people to keep the path to Duat. I wonder too, if it is similar to that which we discovered in Zundar…Of course, you assistance in this matter would be well rewarded.
On a similar note, I wonder if you and your close friends, Yarl’s Folk, would like to investigate further the information you provided concerning the Astral Intersection in the South of Amarsland? I know Yarl is keen to expand his realm and has oft spoke of seats for his numerous offspring, including here, in Everinstar. He will not take much persuading, I’m certain.
I was fascinated by Yarl’s conversation with Maedus about a new religion, born out of the East. A mythos based on a Pantheon of Gods that dwell atop a mountain and thrive on the worship of mortals. It seems very popular amongst some of the second and third born. I see many parallels here and would wish to treat its emergence as a chance to extend the powers of good on the Prime, rather than a threat. How do you see it, my friend?
Your Friend,
L
{Logic note - this appears to be the year 562 - which is also the year that Lastar first created the Pentagram gates}
